Before and After: DIY Magazine Basket

August 8, 2011 § 2 Comments

Do you need a place to keep your favorite magazines without throwing them on your coffee table and creating clutter? A basket may be just what you need to keep all of your publications organized and neat without sacrificing table space. You can grab any basket (Marshall’s always has a great selection), a can of spray paint and your favorite fabric to create a basket that fits in with your decor. If you’re not a seamstress, you can take the basket and fabric to your local tailor and have them sew the insert for you for about $20. Check out Calico Corners (tons of locations!) for some amazing modern fabrics to choose from, here. I hope you enjoyed this quick DIY project and would love to know what you think! Thanks for reading and please come back again! xo

  • Love your blog– thanks for mentioning our stores– Not only do we have a huge selection of fabrics– but we are now carring Robert Allen fabrics (1700 of them!) and throughout the fall will be adding another 1,000 or so fabrics to our selection– if you can’t get to a store– they will all be available online– Love the basket idea– I am gong to steal it!
