So far one of my favorite ornaments I’ve found are the paper Kraft Animal Ornaments, $4 each (on sale!), from West Elm. You can get free shipping on these babies so get ’em while they last! Look how pretty they look on the tree (and they’re eco-friendly!):
Another eco-friendly find are these Savannah Story Rhino ornaments, $16 each, from Anthropologie. They’re made from cement bags covered with book pages–so creative!
These gorgeous White Bone China Pinecone ornaments, $7.95 each, from Crate & Barrel make a simple, classic Christmas statement. I could picture a tree filled with them accented with white lights! (Free shipping with qualifying orders.)
For a nice pop of color on your tree the Poinsettia Peacock ornament from Z Gallerie, $10, is amazing. The jewel tones are so rich and add a modern take to the iconic holiday flower.
So far I’ve only put up my small Christmas tree but I plan on putting up my 4.5″ tree next week and I definitely need to get some new ornaments! I’d love to see what your tree looks like this year!

I popped in The Loft last night to see what they had on sale for the holidays and was pleasantly surprised, as usual! While most of what I found wasn’t on sale, I liked it all the same!
I found the most adorable pair of slippers that had everything I like-comfort, sparkle and jewels. I could easily rock these around the house or go do laundry in my apartment without looking like someone who should be featured on thepeopleofwalmart.com!
My next favorite item was this black and gold skirt. It’s one of those items you can throw on a blazer and wear it to work or pop on a cute blouse or tank and dress it up for one of your many holiday parties on the list!
What I really was looking for was the sale items and I’m happy to report ALL of their sweaters are currently buy one get one half off! From super chunky knits to a comfortable layering sweater, I ❤ them all (especially the ones that sparkle).
Last but not least was this gorgeous pearl bracelet that really caught my eye!
Btw–this is my first attempt at uploading and writing a post from my iPhone app! I will come back and update this post with prices later tonight!
Thanks for reading!

This is definitely one of the most wonderful times of the year! Not only do I love to shop but I especially love to get the people in my life presents that will make them smile! When I can get deals on them and stay within my budget, I love it even more!
This weekend there are some great shopping events popping up in the city. The outdoor Downtown Holiday Market opens tomorrow, Dec. 3 from 12-8pm and runs through Dec. 23rd. If you get off at the Metro Center or Gallery Place stops you’re just a few feet away from 8th and F Sts. where the center of the action is! There will be more than 50 exhibitors showcasing crafts, jewelry, art, clothing and more along with entertainment and food vendors.
This Sunday, check out Merriment in Georgetown from 2-5pm with treats for the little ones (pictures with Santa, elves running a muck and free horse and buggy rides) as well as lots of shopping fun for mom and dad. You can check out all of the deals on their website here: http://www.merrimentingeorgetown.com/store.html. BUT, let me just highlight some of my fav finds:
1. Coach-25% off your purchase! 2. O Salon-receive a FREE treatment ($40 value) 3. Papyrus-30% off your purchase (Christmas cards, anyone?!)
And last but not least I take you to one of my favorite boutique’s in Old Town Alexandria, Treat (mostly I love them because I can fit into their clothes and they often have champagne and cupcakes!). Their Holiday Open House is on Thursday, Dec. 9, from 5-8pm. Expect to nibble on treats while you browse, pick a hidden discount from under their holiday tree and get free wrapping! You also get a free gift with any purchase, which who knows what it is but knowing them I’m sure it’ll be worthwhile.
Well, shoppers–ENJOY! Let me know if you hit up any of these wonderful events! And as always, thanks for reading my blog! Happy Holidays!

What do you get the person on your list that already has everything? How about the Mango radio from Areaware?! These little buggers (designed by Singgih Susilo Kartono) are made of sustainably harvested wood and for every tree used in their production, a new one is planted! That’s a gift I can live with….did I mention they are MP3 compatible? There are four different sizes and prices range from $150-$300.
